Mike Hacker brings more than two decades of experience in funeral service to his role as co-founder of Evergreen Preneed Solutions. A lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Mike was born and raised in Muncy Valley and now resides in Hughesville with his wife, Jenny.
After graduating from Sullivan County High School in 1993, Mike earned a degree in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, followed by his professional training at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He began his career in 2002 as an intern with McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home and, in 2009, fulfilled a longtime goal of becoming an owner when he acquired the Hughesville funeral home. Since then, he has expanded his operations with the acquisitions of the former McHenry Funeral Home in Dushore and the former Spitler Funeral Home in Montoursville.
Mike’s deep commitment to his profession extends beyond his funeral homes. He is a past president of both the Central Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. Through these roles, he has helped shape industry standards and supported fellow funeral directors across the state.
He attends Faith United Methodist Church in Montoursville, and is a member of the Muncy Lodge #299 F. & A.M., Irem Temple Shrine in Dallas, and is a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 601 in Sonestown.
When he’s not serving families or supporting industry initiatives, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, working on his farm, and collecting John Deere tractors.

Evergreen Preneeds isn’t for everyone—and that’s by design. We’re building a network of like-minded funeral home owners who want to:
Embrace innovation without sacrificing tradition
Prioritize financial strength and operational flexibility
Join a community grounded in ethics, transparency, and shared purpose
If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
The traditional insurance-based preneed model has long been the default—but it often falls short. At Evergreen Preneeds, we offer a trust model that provides:
Higher Return Potential: Invested funds grow more efficiently to help keep pace with inflation and increase business EBITDA.
More Flexibility: Unlike insurance, trusts aren’t one-size-fits-all. You can direct investments or work with our experienced money manager.
Faster Payouts: ACH transfers typically happen within one business day—no waiting on checks.
Ownership Continuity: If your funeral home is sold, the trust transitions seamlessly to the new owner.
